Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for South

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Whitman-Hanson Regional Panthers 42-39. The win was all the more spectacular given the Colonels' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Panthers are ranked 24th).

South is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Whitman-Hanson Regional's loss dropped their record down to 19-4.

As of now, neither South nor Whitman-Hanson Regional have any future games scheduled.
