Basketball Recap: Altamont Comes Up Short

Altamont played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 48-27 to the Tabiona Tigers. The Longhorns were down 40-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Leading Tabiona to victory were Kaidence Pippy and Taliya Allred. Pippy went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points and six steals, while Allred posted eight points and three steals. Pippy has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaela Sanders, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Altamont dropped their record down to 4-15 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tabiona, their record is now 16-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altamont will venture away from home to face off against Wendover at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Altamont is facing Wendover at the right time seeing as Wendover is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tabiona, they will head out to challenge Tintic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Tabiona is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.
