League recap: Wetmore overpowering for Madawaska in past week

Dylan Wetmore was the best pitcher in C East this week, leading Madawaska. He picked up one win and 17 strikeouts.

Austyn Michaud was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .455 average, one home run and six RBIs. His the Owls team went 2-1.

Madawaska's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 42 hits and 29 walks, both of which led the league. The Owls have given up a mere 76 hits on the year, while striking out 96 opposing hitters. Wetmore is the leader in that category with 40 Ks on the season.

Madawaska scored a league-best 42 runs this week, adding to its league-leading 87 runs on the season. The Owls' key hitters include Sam Beaulieu, who has a team-high 16 runs, and Jesse Pelletier, who leads the squad with with 12 RBIs.

Madawaska's Brad Pelletier led the league with eight hits this week. He is third in the league with 14 hits this year, and has a .389 batting average.
