Basketball Recap: Gainesville Christian Community Takes a Loss

Gainesville Christian Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They took a blow against the Westwood Christian Warriors, falling 84-50. Gainesville Christian Community was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-20.

Tripp Kirkland was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 44 points, 37 boards, and ten assists for Westwood Christian. The matchup was Kirkland's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Matt Music was another key player, putting up 21 points and three steals.

Gainesville Christian Community's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Westwood Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hope Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Gainesville Christian Community will head out to face Hope Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Westwood Christian will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
