Baseball Recap: Raytown Comes Up Short

Raytown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 17-2 to the Platte County Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-1 loss back in April.

Raytown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Platte County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raytown will challenge Van Horn at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Platte County, they will square off against Ruskin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.07 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
