Baseball Recap: Colorado Academy's Run of Nine Straight Wins Now Over

Colorado Academy dropped their record down to 14-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They fell 5-2 to the Forge Christian Fury. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Colorado Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Bridich, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Bridich is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Forge Christian, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.

On Forge Christian's side, Brock Wycoff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Jonah Boykin was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Easton Wilde, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

While Colorado Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
