Softball Recap: Hammond Morton Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Hammond Morton dropped their record down to 8-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Mishawaka Marian Knights, falling 9-2. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the Governors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Analiya Feliciano was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

As for Mishawaka Marian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9 runs.

On Mishawaka Marian's side, Chloe Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Katie Milligan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024. Dreama Root was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Hammond Morton will challenge Westville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mishawaka Marian, they will take on Elkhart at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
