Volleyball Recap: Mitchell Gets the Win

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Mitchell won by a set and slipped past Bayard 2-1. The win continues a trend for Mitchell in their matchups with Bayard: they've now won three in a row.

Laney Bohl had a dynamite game, getting 22 digs and one assist. Those 22 digs gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Bayard had strong showings from Layni Nesbitt, who had 16 digs and 16 assists, and Olivia Plasencio, who had ten digs. Nesbitt is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Mitchell's victory bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Bayard, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Mitchell will host Lingle-Fort Laramie on Thursday. As for Bayard, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Garden County on the 23rd.
