Basketball Recap: South Texas Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Diego Escobedo and Gabriel Armenta

If South Texas Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 79-25 takedown of Presbyterian Pan American last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Texas Christian Academy Panthers lost 65-39 to the Marine Military Academy Leathernecks on Tuesday. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

South Texas Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Gabriel Armenta and Diego Escobedo. Armenta posted 15 points along with six boards and three steals, while Escobedo had nine points. Armenta's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Tamayo, who put up eight points.

With the loss, South Texas Christian Academy broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. As for Marine Military Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

South Texas Christian Academy will take on Macedonian Christian in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. Marine Military Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
