Recap: Clinton Arrows vs. Madison Central Jaguars
After flying high against the Murrah Mustangs last Tuesday, the Clinton Arrows came back down to earth. Clinton took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison Central on Friday. Clinton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Madison Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Clinton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taelar Felton. Despite the final result, she scored 32 points. That was a full 62.7% of Clinton's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eyana Mckinley, who scored two points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Leading Madison Central to victory were Karley Robinson and Lauren Sutton. Robinson scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Sutton scored 23 points along with three steals. Alonna Mccruter was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds.
Clinton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season. As for Madison Central, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-13.
Clinton will head out on the road to take on Madison Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Clinton is coming into the matchup with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Madison Central will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Madison Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clinton at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Clinton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
