Baseball Recap: City Honors Centaurs vs. Charter School for Applied Tech Eagles

City Honors took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (barely). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Charter School for Applied Tech Eagles 3-2. That's more bragging rights for City Honors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dean Tripp made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Tripp was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Tripp wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Perales, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Charter School for Applied Tech are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

City Honors will head out on the road to take on Hutchinson-Central Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Charter School for Applied Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
