Volleyball Game Preview: Saint Viator Lions vs. Marian Catholic Spartans

The Saint Viator Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Marian Catholic Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Saint Viator and four for Marian Catholic.

On Tuesday, Saint Viator came up short against Joliet Catholic and fell 2-0.

Saint Viator was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-18, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Marian Catholic also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Carmel by a score of 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16.

Saint Viator's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Marian Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Saint Viator couldn't quite get it done against Marian Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
