Baseball Recap: Shelbyville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Central A & M on Tuesday, Shelbyville came back down to earth. The Rams came up short against the Vandalia Vandals on Thursday, falling 11-1. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Vandals from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Shelbyville has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Vandalia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelbyville will square off against Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Vandalia, they will take on Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vandals are facing the Hiltoppers at the right time seeing as the Hiltoppers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
