If Zuni wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Newcomb, they should've done a better job of containing Lethia Yazzie. The Newcomb Skyhawks enjoyed a cozy 64-49 victory over the Zuni Thunderbirds on Monday thanks in part to Yazzie, who went 11-for-17 on her way to 29 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.
Newcomb's win bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Zuni, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-23.
