Softball Recap: Stanton Takes a Loss

Stanton lost against Big Spring back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Stanton Buffaloes came up short against the Big Spring Steers, falling 13-2. The matchup marked the Buffaloes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Stanton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Vasquez, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Vasquez a new career-high. Peyton Little also deserves some recognition as she stole her first stolen base of the season.

Stanton now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Big Spring, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanton will face off against Coahoma at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Big Spring, they will challenge Fort Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Spring will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
