Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Fife

Fife waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Eatonville Cruisers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-1 on April 8th.

Frankie Wolfrom made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Wolfrom was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mallory Geving and Mallory Robson did most of the damage at the plate: Geving went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Robson went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sophia Payne, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Fife always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eatonville only posted an OBP of .360.

Fife's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Eatonville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Fife will square off against Orting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eatonville, they will head out to face off against Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cruisers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
