The West Johnston Wildcats will square off against the Southern Lee Cavaliers at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

West Johnston came up short against Harnett Central on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

West Johnston took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-16, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Southern Lee lost 3-0 to Union Pines on Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-20.

West Johnston's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Southern Lee, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.
