Soccer Recap: The Academy's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

There was early excitement for The Academy after they claimed the first goal on Thursday, however, they wouldn't score again. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the George Washington Patriots. The loss was The Academy's first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Aydon Austin, which was the first he's scored this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, The Academy fell to 6-1-1. As for George Washington, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 3-5-1.

Looking ahead, The Academy will host Stargate School at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Stargate School's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for George Washington, they will face off against Denver South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Denver South's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so George Washington's offense will have their work cut out for them.
