Softball Game Preview: Baldwin Park Braves vs. Nogales Nobles

Baldwin Park is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Nogales a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Baldwin Park Braves will be playing at home against the Nogales Nobles at 3:30 p.m. Baldwin Park has given up an average of 18 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Baldwin Park and Sierra Vista, and Sierra Vista kept the tradition alive. The Braves lost 13-2 to the Dons on Thursday.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Nogales sidestepped Garey for a 12-10 win.

Jayda Eaton was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dezzy Torres, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Nogales was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Baldwin Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Nogales, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.

Baldwin Park took their win against Nogales when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Nobles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
