Basketball Game Preview: North Polk Comets vs. Perry Bluejays

The North Polk Comets will head out to challenge the Perry Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Perry took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Polk, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, North Polk beat Hoover 68-55. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Meanwhile, Perry came up short against Fort Dodge on Tuesday and fell 72-62.

North Polk will have to contain Geren Kenney as he made an impact in Perry's last game. He dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. Kenney is becoming a predictor of Perry's success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is 11-5 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Gustavo Drahos, who posted 17 points.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for North Polk, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Everything came up roses for North Polk against Perry in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, as the squad secured a 64-21 victory. In that matchup, North Polk amassed a halftime lead of 37-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
