Basketball Recap: Dade County Takes a Loss

Dade County extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-10. They were dealt a 63-32 loss at the hands of the Ridgeland Panthers. The Wolverines were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

As for Ridgeland, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

Leading Ridgeland to victory were Jordyn Thomas and Jamiah Lewis. Thomas shot 55% from the field on her way to 16 points and four steals, while Lewis went 7-for-17 to rack up 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Thomas is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Fleming, who posted seven points.

Dade County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-45 victory against Coahulla Creek on the 22nd. As for Ridgeland, they have also already played their next contest, a 35-31 win against Bremen on the 22nd.
