Perry unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 76-45 loss at the hands of the Sunnyslope Vikings. The Pumas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

When it comes to explaining why Perry lost on Tuesday, don't look at JJ Howard. Despite the final result, he went 10-for-15 to rack up 25 points.

Sunnyslope now has a winning record of 2-1.

Perry has already played their next contest, a 60-56 win against Deer Valley on the 3rd. As for Sunnyslope, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-53 victory against Amador Valley on the 29th.
