Softball Recap: South Pointe Stallions vs. York Cougars
South Pointe lost against York last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Stallions came up short against the Cougars, falling 18-5. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Katelynne Blythe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Campbell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
South Pointe's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for York, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Pointe will take on Northwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.69 runs per game on average), something the Stallions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for York, they will square off against Clover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
