Recap: Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans vs. Sedan Devils
The Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Sedan 41-36. Cedar Vale/Dexter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sedan apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Cedar Vale/Dexter saw an underclassman step up: Zoe Davidson scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Riley Schalk, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Cedar Vale/Dexter dropped their record down to 7-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Sedan, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Cedar Vale/Dexter will head out on the road to take on South Haven at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Haven will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Cedar Vale/Dexter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sedan, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Erie at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Erie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
