Basketball Recap: Carencro Comes Up Short

Carencro and Alexandria squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Carencro had to settle for second. They took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alexandria Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Trojans are ranked 17th).

Jarvell Bordelon was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-12 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds for Alexandria. The contest was Bordelon's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Dorty, who posted six points and four steals.

Carencro's defeat dropped their record down to 16-26. As for Alexandria, they pushed their record up to 27-7 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Carencro nor Alexandria have any future games scheduled.
