Baseball Recap: Northampton Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Northampton's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves. The Konkrete Kids might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Tommy Hensel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Sugra, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Austin Sommers was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Northampton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Northampton pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.6 runs this season. As for East Stroudsburg North, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
