Football Game Preview: Gilmer Bobcats vs. Douglass Astros

After each having a week off, the Gilmer Bobcats and the Douglass Astros will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Gilmer will be strutting in after a win while Douglass will be coming in after a loss.

Gilmer not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 11, 2024 (when they won 48-7). They claimed a resounding 38-6 victory over Ridgeland. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last five contests, Douglass finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a 21-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stephenson. The Astros' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Douglass' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Gilmer, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
