 Beloit Memorial won the last time they faced Elkhorn, and things went their way  on Tuesday too. The Beloit Memorial Purple Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-6  win over the Elkhorn Elks. That's two games straight that Beloit Memorial has won by  exactly two  runs.
  Rilynne Cleland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and five unearned) runs on 11 hits.
 On the hitting side,  Allie Gustafson and  Brooklynne Hereford-foster did most of the damage at the plate:  Gustafson  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4, while  Hereford-foster  went 2-for-4 with a  triple, a  stolen base,  and a  run.  Jasmine Smith was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Beloit Memorial has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record  this season. As for Elkhorn, they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-5.
 Beloit Memorial will have a chance to go back-to-back against Elkhorn: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
