Basketball Game Preview: Johnsburg Central Jaguars vs. Lake Placid Bombers

The Johnsburg Central Jaguars will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Lake Placid Bombers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Johnsburg Central is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game dating back to last season back in December of 2024. They were outmatched by Bolton Central and fell 78-13. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-0.

Meanwhile, Lake Placid was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-30 heartbreaker at the hands of Keene Central.

Johnsburg Central will have to contain Anisa Cecunjanin as she made an impact in Lake Placid's last game. She posted 19 points. Ella Moodey was another key player, putting up eight points.

Johnsburg Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lake Placid, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Johnsburg Central ended up a good deal behind Lake Placid in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 36-19. Can Johnsburg Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
