Basketball Game Preview: Greenon Knights vs. Dunbar Wolverines

Greenon is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Dunbar is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Greenon Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Dunbar Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Greenon beats Dunbar with 49 points on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Greenon snuck past Mechanicsburg with a 49-45 win on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Dunbar hadn't done well against Trotwood-Madison recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Dunbar strolled past Trotwood-Madison with points to spare, taking the game 50-36.

Dunbar's win came from a few key players Greenon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Donisha Davis, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 25 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aunesty Ramsey, who went 7 of 14 to rack up 17 points and four steals.

Dunbar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Dunbar is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points over those games. As for Greenon, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
