Baseball Recap: Ajo Starts off Right with Win over Tohono O'odham

Ajo had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Tohono O'Odham Eagles 12-6 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Raiders as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Ajo let Malin Lewis and Gabriel Cooper run wild. Lewis scored three runs while going 2-for-2, while Cooper scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jasai Del Rosario, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Coming up, Ajo will be playing in front of their home fans against A+ Charter School at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give A+ Charter School their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Tohono O'Odham, they will square off against Thunderbird Adventist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
