Basketball Recap: Calhoun Tigers vs. Hatch Bobcats
Calhoun kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took an 86-81 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hatch Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 84-79 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Calhoun's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Robertson and Jamel Mason. Robertson dropped a double-double on 36 points and 21 rebounds, while Mason went 11 for 15 en route to 24 points plus six steals and five rebounds. What's more, Robertson also posted a 33% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Jatarrean Means was another key player, scoring nine points.
Calhoun will challenge Keith at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hatch has already played their next contest, a 73-54 win against Dallas County on the 14th.
