Basketball Recap: Ja Shawn Waters' Big Game Can't Quite Lead LBJ Austin over Richland

LBJ Austin's tournament run continued when they took on Richland on Saturday. The LBJ Austin Jaguars fell 55-42 to the Richland Royals.

LBJ Austin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja Shawn Waters, who posted 19 points. With that strong performance, Waters is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Antione Baker, who put up seven points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, LBJ Austin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

LBJ Austin's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Richland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.
