Volleyball Recap: Half Moon Bay Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Half Moon Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Menlo-Atherton Bears. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 25-14 in the first set.

Half Moon Bay started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-17.

Menlo-Atherton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calista Chou led the charge by getting 21 assists and six aces. Chou has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylie Winters, who had 13 digs and three aces.

Half Moon Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Menlo-Atherton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
