League recap: Knightdale extends winning streak with victory over Southeast Raleigh

4A Conference 12 recap October 22, 2013

Knightdale added to the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 12 this week by beating Southeast Raleigh, 42-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Knights.

Harnett Central lost to Garner Magnet 62-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.

East Wake's Trent Evans and Evan Finch led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Evans has thrown for 983 yards this season, while Finch has 12 catches for 346 yards. The Trojans' Nyheim Miller-hines leads the league in rushing yards with 1,249.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Knightdale takes on second place Garner Magnet. Last week, Knightdale defeated the Bulldogs, while Garner Magnet bested the Trojans.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Warriors' Finch goes up against Clayton's Eric Hoy.

Next week's game between East Wake and the Comets will feature an aerial matchup as Evans tests his arm against Hoy's defensive ability.

One of 4A Conference 12's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when John Poulnott's team and Clayton face off next week.

The league will see a high scoring game when Randy Pinkowski's team and the Warriors face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Comets comes in having scored 244 this season, while East Wake has scored 87.

The Warriors and West Johnston played the closest game in the league this week, with the Warriors eventually emerging with a 30-24 victory.
