Basketball Game Preview: Roger Bacon Spartans vs. Northwest Knights

Roger Bacon is on a three-game streak of home losses, Northwest a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Roger Bacon Spartans will welcome the Northwest Knights at 7:30 p.m. Roger Bacon will be strutting in after a victory while Northwest will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Roger Bacon needed a bit of extra time to put away Norwood. They snuck past the Indians with a 44-38 win.

Roger Bacon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gussie Hoffman, who posted eight points and three steals. Hoffman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Schlichter, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 16 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Northwest scored the most points they've had this season last Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of North College Hill by a score of 39-37.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Roger Bacon, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Roger Bacon didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Northwest in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, but they still walked away with a 50-45 win. Will Roger Bacon repeat their success, or does Northwest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
