Baseball Recap: Grainger Comes Up Short on the Road Against Loudon

Grainger had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loudon Redskins. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Josh Walker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Collins, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

The win made it two in a row for Loudon and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grainger will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Hancock County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Loudon, they will host Roane County at 6:00 p.m. on March 7th.
