Recap: Timothy Christian Trojans vs. Rockford Christian Royal Lions
The Timothy Christian Trojans lost against the Rockford Christian Royal Lions back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Timothy Christian took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rockford Christian. While losing is never fun, Timothy Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while Rockford Christian is ranked 192nd).
Timothy Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Alex Keizer and Stephen Hribal. Keizer scored 26 points, while Hribal dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Keizer has scored all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Timothy Christian and nudges their season record down to 7-13. As for Rockford Christian, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home.
Timothy Christian and Walther Christian Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Rockford Christian, they will face off against Peoria Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
