Baseball Recap: North Broward Prep Find Success

North Broward Prep won the last time they faced American Heritage and things went their way on Friday too. The North Broward Prep Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the American Heritage Patriots 3-2.

Nate Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anthony Mestre, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

North Broward Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. American Heritage's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.

North Broward Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-3 defeat against Jupiter on the 11th. As for American Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-6 victory against John Carroll Catholic on the 11th.
