Softball Recap: Egyptian Pharaohs vs. Goreville Blackcats

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Egyptian can now relate to. They lost 17-0 to the Goreville Blackcats on Wednesday. Egyptian has not had much luck with Goreville recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

For Goreville's part, Breanna (Brea) Suits made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over four innings pitched. Suits was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Abigail (Abby) Compton was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, six RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Emma Rogers, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Egyptian's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Goreville, their win bumped their record up to 14-17.

As of now, neither Egyptian nor Goreville have any future games scheduled.
