Baseball Game Preview: Bland County Bears vs. Mount View Golden Knights

The Bland County Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Mount View Golden Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bland County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with ten straight losses, while Mount View will come in with four straight wins.

Bland County lost 20-11 to George Wythe on Tuesday. Even if the Bears couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Mount View beat River View 8-5 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Kyrece Hughes, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Mount View: the team is 7-2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Jacob Clemins was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Mount View pushed their record up to 9-5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Bland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
