Basketball Recap: Ellis Comes Up Short

Ellis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norton Bluejays. The Railroaders were probably out for revenge after losing 49-26 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Loss or not, Ellis got some senior leadership from Natalee North and Isabella Eck. North dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, while Eck posted 13 points and three steals. North is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Norton can attribute much of their success to Kcanna Keiswetter, who went 7 for 12 en route to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Keiswetter a new career-high. Hallie Brooks was another key player, putting up nine points.

Ellis' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Norton, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.

Ellis will take on Victoria on Tuesday. As for Norton, they will face off against Ellis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
