Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-0 loss on Thursday.

Fayette County has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Etowah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Blue Devils beat Fayette County by a score of 8-0 later that day.
