Basketball Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Garner Trojans
Apex hadn't beaten Garner on the road since February 9, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Cougars claimed a resounding 62-13 win over the Trojans. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.
Apex found their leader in sophomore Elizabeth Austin, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 16 points along with five boards and four steals. Austin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
