Basketball Recap: Wheatland Takes a Loss

Wheatland was the 52-37 winner over Rawlins when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wheatland Bulldogs lost to the Rawlins Outlaws on the road by a 54-38 margin on Saturday.

Leading Rawlins to victory were Damien Vialpando and Vaughn Grant. Vialpando went 7 for 11 en route to 20 points, while Grant went 7 of 9 on his way to 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Grant a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Searle, who posted ten points.

Wheatland has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Rawlins, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.

Wheatland has already played their next match (against Burns), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rawlins has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Torrington.
