Roaring Fork extends home winning streak to seven

Recap: Roaring Fork Rams vs. Meeker Cowboys

The Roaring Fork Rams entered their tilt with the Meeker Cowboys with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Roaring Fork enjoyed a cozy 64-48 victory over Meeker on Saturday. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 19 to 12 on the offensive boards, as Roaring Fork did.

Roaring Fork was led to victory by Riley Bevington and Carly Crownhart. Bevington dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds, while Crownhart scored 29 points. Bevington is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikki Tardif, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Despite the defeat, Meeker saw an underclassman step up: Rylee Sullivan scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Sullivan hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Ellie Hossack was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Roaring Fork's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Meeker, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Roaring Fork and Aspen will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Roaring Fork is facing Aspen at the right time seeing as Aspen is stuck on a 11-game losing streak. As for Meeker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gunnison at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
