Baseball Recap: DuQuoin Takes a Loss

DuQuoin was the 24-12 winner over Goreville when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Blackcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cy Craft spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Jayden Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

DuQuoin's loss dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Goreville, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-7.

DuQuoin has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Trico on the 15th. As for Goreville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-1 defeat against Harrisburg on the 15th.
