Ware County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 55-7 victory over the Appling County Pirates. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Gators had established a 34-point advantage.

Tayshaun Franklin went supernova, rushing for 152 yards and three TDs on only five carries. Those 152 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jamir Boyd was another key rusher, rushing for 103 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Despite the loss, Appling County still got an impressive performance from Jaiden Knight, who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Ware County will host Coffee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Appling County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wayne County at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
