Basketball Game Preview: Orange Panthers vs. Swansboro Pirates

The Orange Panthers will challenge the Swansboro Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Orange is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Western Alamance on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Orange took a blow against Western Alamance, falling 76-38. The Panthers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Swansboro entered their tilt with West Carteret on Saturday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They took down the Patriots 37-20.

Swansboro found their leader in sophomore Addison King, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. King is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooke Brady, who posted four points and nine boards.

Swansboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Swansboro pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.5 points over those games. As for Orange, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.
