Softball Recap: Staunton Comes Up Short

Staunton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 23-2 to the Waynesboro Little Giants, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Storm were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Little Giants earlier this season, when they won 29-19.

Staunton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Waynesboro, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Staunton will welcome Riverheads at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gladiators will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Storm surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waynesboro, they will be playing at home against Charlottesville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
